Dave Grohl maintains his power on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame voting committee, even after his affair.
Regarding the 2024 Rock Hall Nominating Committee, the new members are Kelly Chappel, Allison Hagendorf, Jimmy Jam, Tracey Jordan, Peter Shapiro, and Danyel Smith. The committee now has the highest percentage of women ever at 37%. Lenny Kaye, Paul Shaffer, and Amy Linden are not returning.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is coming up and will have many stars. Sadly, many honorees have passed away. Only Robert “Kool” Bell is left from Kool & the Gang’s original seven members. The MC5 lost its last two original members, and Foreigner’s original bassist Ed Gagliardi and multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald have died. Guitarist Mick Jones is dealing with Parkinson’s disease, and A Tribe Called Quest has lost Phife Dawg.
The 2024 class includes Peter Frampton, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, the Dave Matthews Band, the late Jimmy Buffett, Dionne Warwick, and others who have passed away. This group is seen as catching up on artists who should have been honored earlier. Guitarist Tom Morello mentioned that new inductees like the MC5 influenced many famous bands.
