Late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington’s son Jamie Bennington recently made some bold claims about the band. He claimed that his father had approached A Perfect Circle guitarist Billy Howerdale to produce a song for ‘One More Light’ album. The song became ‘Eat The Elephant’ by A Perfect Circle, with it being sung by Maynard James Keenan.
Jamie Bennington makes claims about Linkin Park
Taking to his Instagram story section, he wrote the following:
“1). Chester approached guitarist Billy Howerdale (Ashes Divide, A Perfect Circle) in hopes to produce a song for LINKIN PARK’S 7th studio album One More Light.
2). Together they produced a demo titled ‘Eat the Elephant.
3). Due to the pop tone of One More Light the song never made it on the album.
4). Prompted by Chester’s passing Billy surfaced the demo and presented it to A Perfect Circle. The band
modified the song and released it in April 2018.
5. Maynard Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle) was one of the band members to add to the song.
6). ‘Eat the Elephant’ is the first track of A Perfect Circle’s 5th studio album of the
same name. A dedication of sorts to the memory of Chester Bennington.”
Linkin Park recently made their comeback from hiatus following the tragic loss of their iconic frontman, Chester Bennington, in 2017. They recently unveiled a new single titled “The Emptiness Machine” from their upcoming album From Zero. This marked the band’s first release of new music in several years. They went on to drop more songs including ‘Heavy is The Crown’ and ‘Over Each Other.’
The band had performed in a live stream event. However, fans noticed the absence of two core members, guitarist Brad Delson and drummer Rob Bourdon during the performance. Former Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong was also introduced as the new vocalist replacing Chester Bennington. Guitarist Alex Feder stepped in to fill Brad Delson’s role on stage.
However, the addition of Emily Armstrong to the band drew mixed reactions from the fans and Mike Shinoda has also addressed the same. Meanwhile, she has received support from Chester’s widow, Talinda Bennington. She seemingly approved of the band’s choice to replace Chester. But, Chester’s son, Jamie Bennington launched a scathing attack.
