Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl recently sold his longtime Sherman Oaks, CA, home for a pretty penny, considering his initial outlay more than 20 years ago.

Grohl, the lead singer, guitarist, and founder of the grunge band Foo Fighters had bought the four-bedroom, three-bath property in 2001 for $569,000. The 2,774-square-foot property was sold for an impressive $1.6 million via SF Gate.
It has come to light that while pictures of the dwelling aren’t available, the 1967 build sits on a quarter-acre on the north side of the city. The one-level dwelling features a living room with a fireplace, den, kitchen, and dining room. The flooring was made from hardwood and clay.
The Spanish-style residence includes an in-ground pool and a two-car garage. Grohl’s bandmate Chris Shiflett is also making waves in real estate: He listed his home about 80 miles up the coast in Santa Barbara late last year for just over $2 million.
While Grohl has been a part of multiple bands, he’s known for his Foo Fighters fame and his time with the influential grunge group Nirvana, founded by Kurt Cobain, which he joined in 1990 to play drums. The Fighters lost their own drummer, Taylor Hawkins, who died in 2022. They’re currently touring and have shows planned for this summer.
Foo Fighters are set to embark on a comprehensive United States tour starting with shows at Citi Field in New York on July 17 and 18, culminating at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, on August 18.
Meanwhile, Grohl recently faced backlash from Taylor Swift fans. Swift and the Foo Fighters both played in London when Grohl lambasted the Eras Tour, alleging the pop star does not perform her songs live. It has been noted that the shot from Grohl did not sit well with the Swifties. Grohl was even told to get divorced.
