Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who recently gifted a fan, decided to take a shot at Taylor Swift.
During his performance in Manchester, England, on June 15, the Foo Fighters frontman took several moments between songs to speak about the 14-time Grammy winner and her record-breaking Eras Tour.
Dave Grohl takes a shot at Taylor Swift
Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift have been on a UK tour and in concert footage captured by TikTok user StrettyEnd, Grohl said, “See, now I’m feeling like Taylor Swift!”
After his assertion, which was met with a mixed reaction from the audience, the frontman added, “I should be so lucky.”
“Listen — tonight, this is my Eras Tour, OK? I’ve got a lot of eras,” Grohl continued. “Spelled e-r-r-o-r-s. This is my ‘Errors Tour,’ how about that?”
“That’s what we should’ve called this f—— tour: The Errors Tour,” he added.
Grohl went on to again speak about Swift and his “Errors Tour,” joking that it’s a suitable name because of all the errors his band makes while performing live.
“I know we were joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier. I know that she’s on her Eras Tour,” the rocker said, inciting boos from the crowd. As the jeering continued, Grohl shook his head and said, “I’m telling you man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
“So, we like to call our tour the Errors Tour,” he continued, “because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few f—— errors as well. Just a couple.”
He then added, “That’s because we play live.” And, in a sarcastically shocked voice, he added, “What?”
After a quick walk away from the mic — as the crowd reacted — he came back and said, “Just sayin’. We’re a live band! You guys like live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f—— place.”
Swift took note of Grohl’s criticism and responded to his claims in her classy ways at her Wembley Stadium stop for her ongoing London Eras Tour. The “Lover” singer said, “Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much.”
Remembering her fandom’s genuine expressions throughout the Eras Tour that kicked off in March 2023, she added, “And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”
