Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen talked about the tough time he’s been going through after being attacked in Florida. In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Allen shared how the attack, which happened outside a hotel, has affected him.

“I’ve been going through some hard times because of what happened in Florida,” Allen said. “I’ve been trying to deal with it, but it’s been difficult.” He explained that he had to take a break from some of his other work to focus on his recovery and spend more time with his family.

“It’s been really hard,” he added. “I hope I can move on from it and get back to a normal life, but it’s been tough.”

The attack in 2023 has made people wonder if Allen will be able to perform with Def Leppard in the future. This attack is especially serious since Allen had already lost his left arm in a car accident in 1984.

The person who attacked Allen, a 19-year-old, was charged with battery and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult after knocking Allen to the ground and causing him to hit his head.

Allen has thanked his family for helping him during his recovery, but it’s still unclear if he will be able to take part in upcoming events. He even had to miss part of a cruise where his artwork was being shown. Despite all this, Allen is hopeful that he will be able to move on soon.
