When Gene Simmons hung up his iconic boots and armor after KISS’ final curtain call in 2023, fans thought they’d seen the last of the Demon on stage.
But Gene wasn’t done just yet.
Just weeks ago, the legendary bassist and rock businessman was still promoting his solo tour—an intimate, stripped-back set of dates where he promised face-melting rock without the pyro, platform shoes, or fire-breathing.
It was meant to be a new chapter. A raw, back-to-basics kind of tour.
But then… something unexpected happened.
Seventeen of the 26 scheduled dates for Gene Simmons’ 2025 solo run were postponed—many before they even got off the ground.
Now, instead of launching on April 3rd in Anaheim, California, the new kickoff show is set for May 2nd in Peachtree City, Georgia. That’s nearly a full month of empty venues and quiet stages.
Reports out of multiple venues suggest that some of the shows just weren’t filling seats. Despite Gene’s relentless promotion just weeks ago—interviews, Instagram clips, and a $12,000 “Be My Roadie” VIP experience—many fans weren’t lining up.
One venue in Indiana, where the show was canceled, still had plenty of tickets available just days before the announcement.
And this wasn’t a health scare. Gene’s doing fine. No voice issues. No injuries. Just a harsh reality for even one of rock’s most recognizable faces: ticket sales weren’t cutting it.
