Gene Simmons has shut down speculation that the sons of KISS legends—his own son, Nick Simmons, and Paul Stanley’s son, Evan Stanley—are forming a next-generation version of KISS.

In a recent Ultimate Classic Rock interview, Simmons made it clear: this is not a KISS 2.0 project.

“We, me and Paul, have nothing to do with it. Evan has his own band. Nick’s music and songs have already been in Ozark and Prodigal Son,” Simmons explained.

Despite their fathers’ legendary status, Evan and Nick’s collaboration happened organically, not as a planned extension of KISS.

“There was no guarantee that Evan and Nick would even get along, but they do,” Simmons said. “They started strumming guitars… so they started writing their own songs. All of a sudden, record companies are meeting with them.”

He emphasized their independence from KISS, stating:

“They’re not following in anybody’s footsteps. It has nothing to do with KISS. Their feeling is, ‘We like doing this. You’ve got opinions? We’re not really interested. This is what we’re doing.'”

Their collaboration has already yielded 10 original songs, according to iHeartRadio. Their work has attracted industry attention, and AXS TV reports that they have teamed up with Emmy-winning songwriter Jacob Bunton—adding credibility to their growing project.
