Ann Wilson from the band Heart recently shared her thoughts on the members of Led Zeppelin during an episode of her show After Dinner Thinks with Ann Wilson.
When asked who she thought was more attractive — Jimmy Page or Robert Plant — she said, “When I was young, it was Page. Now, of course, it’s Plant.” She also called John Paul Jones a “gentleman” and jokingly added that while Jimmy and Robert might be too, “you kind of hope that they’re not,” and laughed.
The episode also touched on the upcoming documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin.
Wilson has had a deep connection to Led Zeppelin over the years. She told Far Out Magazine that Led Zeppelin IV is her favorite album ever and that it greatly influenced her music. She praised Robert Plant’s songwriting on that album, saying it marked a big step forward for him.
Back in 2012, Ann and her sister Nancy performed “Stairway to Heaven” at the Kennedy Center Honors. She described the experience as “pretty damn close to orgasmic in terms of bliss.” The crowd gave a standing ovation, and Robert Plant was very moved by the performance.
Wilson also said that Plant inspired her to break musical norms, showing her that singers didn’t have to stick to gender stereotypes in music.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Wilson even offered to be the lead singer for Led Zeppelin if they ever needed one after their 2008 reunion show at the O2 Arena. Although nothing came of it, she said she would have done it if Heart wasn’t active at the time.
The Becoming Led Zeppelin documentary officially premiered in several countries on February 7, 2025.
