Bruce Kulick recently made it clear that he won’t sign the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame book for KISS fans.
Bruce Kulick responds to a fan
“A fan politely asked me to sign their Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame book, so I told him I was not inducted,” the guitarist wrote on Instagram.
“The fan was adamant that they had read it online, which raises concerns about the accuracy of AI-generated information. Thoughts?”
Back in 2013, KISS was announced as a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was later inducted on December 17th. However, not all past and present members were honored and only the original members—Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss—were recognized at the ceremony on April 10, 2014.
Paul and Gene were upset about this decision and chose not to perform at the event, feeling that their long career and many hits were overlooked. KISS’ fans, especially those who enjoyed their music after the early years, also shared this frustration.
A couple of former members, Mark St. John and Eric Carr, have passed away. Kulick, who played with KISS from 1984 to 1996, was also not recognized.
“It has been a roller-coaster ride for me emotionally from the day it was announced KISS was finally being inducted,” Kulick previously said.
“Would I be included or forgotten? Will I get to play? How will the originals deal with each other? I feel elated about the entire affair now that it is done and I got my due respect from the podium being mentioned three times.”
Stanley and Simmons worked hard to get every band member inducted. When Kulick asked how he felt about them standing up for their former bandmates, he said, “It was so important to me that the forty years of KISS was being triumphed by Paul and Gene.”
The musician continued, “It was wonderful reading an email from Paul around the holidays late last year where he explained that he always appreciated my contributions from my era. He was well aware of the twelve years of success. We all became reflective about the history of KISS during that time. Gene and Paul were extremely vocal of everyone understanding KISS now and KISS from my era.”
KISS performed their final show at Madison Square Garden on December 2nd last year. After this show, it was revealed that KISS would continue as digital avatars for virtual performances.
