Tyler Bennington, son of late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington recently made it clear that he doesn’t want to be known as ‘Chester’s son’ and wants his father to be known as ‘Tyler Bennington’s father.’
“That irritates me to no end. It’s majorly discouraging to put hours and hours into building a brand for yourself and creating something, and for that to be the afterthought when people think about you,” he continued.
“I want to learn how to overshadow my image as ‘Chester Bennington’s son.’ I want it to be ‘Tyler Bennington’s Dad.’ I want people to hear the name Bennington and think of two successful people who used hard work to rise in their industry.”
Tyler has not been candid about his father’s passing much, but he once slammed the attempts to sensationalize his loss. Tyler recently expressed his anger over the disrespectful nature of the conspiracy theories about his father’s passing. He emphasized the need to preserve his father’s memory and focus on mental health.
“This is the BS I will not deal with on my page. This person is getting blocked. I’m a child – this is inappropriate to post or comment on my posts or anybody’s posts, for that matter,” he wrote.
“There’s no evidence for this; there’s no evidence for any of these theories that have been made. These are just veiled attempts to sensationalize and make what really is a tragedy a big story to tell people, so get a life, man. Thanks.”
He did add that he wouldn’t tolerate such behavior about himself and his family.
Various theories surrounding Chester Bennington’s passing continue to emerge. Recently, Jaime Bennington claimed that his father did not pass the way as reported.
