Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 recently dropped a video on his Instagram and played the guitar part of the band’s new song, ‘Canceled.’
John 5 was told to leave Mötley Crüe
The guitarist received some unexpected comments, most of them suggesting that he was too good for Mötley Crüe and the rest of the members weren’t as good as him.
When a user wrote, “Please no more new Mötley…” the guitarist responded with “We are just getting started.”
“John you are the only one actually performing,” another user added under the same comment.
During their illustrious career, Mötley Crüe members have been accused of using backing tracks. However, the recent comments came after John 5 was accused as well.
In response, the rocker took to Instagram and shared two separate videos at different times to show that he wasn’t using any backing tracks and that he was actually playing.
In the videos, the rocker was seen playing the “Wild Side” riff and Mick Mars’ solo. He made several videos to prove that he was actually playing, and the band even played in a smaller venue. It was later clarified that they didn’t do the show just to prove that they were playing live, but John 5 did add:
“When you see it in a club there’s no hiding, you’re feeling that air from those amps. It is a rock and roll band. I watch it online and stuff and it sounds killer. I’m very proud, I think it sounds incredible. I love playing those club shows.”
The band dropped the track on October 4th. They also recorded a cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘Fight for Your Right’ along with their two new singles for the EP. While fans expected these tracks to be part of a full album, the band confirmed earlier this year that this would not happen.
