Mötley Crüe is known for its numerous accomplishments and wild behavior, as its members are known for their love of hard partying. A new documentary called “Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of ’80s Hair Metal” has been released, shedding light on some of the band’s wildest moments.

The band’s manager, Doc McGhee, noted that the members of Mötley Crüe had a very strange habit (via Ultimate Guitar): they liked to bite people. “When they bit you, it was like a dog bite,” McGhee stated.

“They’d bite you right in the middle of the forehead, they’d bite you in the arm.”

This habit often landed the band into trouble. McGhee has also recalled how they bit Eddie Van Halen right before the beginning of the “Monsters of Rock” festival in Stockholm, in 1984.

“All of a sudden, Nikki gets up and walks over and bites Eddie on his shoulder,” McGhee reminisced. “Everybody’s pissed. Fifteen minutes later, Vince goes over to bite him too.”

Eddie didn’t like this, of course. “Eddie grabs Vince by the face, throws him on the table, they start fighting,” McGhee said. “Then Malcolm [Young], from AC/DC, looked at Nikki and said, ‘You bite me, mate, and I’ll chew your f***ing ear off.'”

However, instead of backing off, Sixx was motivated to attack.

“Nikki grabs him by the hair and slams him against a wall,” McGhee stated. All the while, “Tommy and David Lee Roth are up on the table, doing some kung fu fighting or some sh** like that.”

Mötley Crüe was kicked out of their hotel for their troubles. Asked why they were so determined to bite Van Halen, Lee said “Dude, we just bit him because we love him.”
