Sheryl Crow to be a part of Concert of Carolina
Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban and Bailey Zimmerman have joined the lineup for Concert for Carolina, a benefit show dedicated to Hurricane Helene relief.
A concert called Concert for Carolina will take place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 26th. The event will feature performances by Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, and James Taylor. All proceeds from the event, including sponsorships, will be split between Combs and Church’s Chief Cares Foundation, which will administer the money to organizations supporting relief efforts across the Carolinas and the Southeast. Beneficiary organizations include Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and Eblen Charities.
Hurricane Helene, a category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 140 miles per hour, made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region on September 26th. As the hurricane moved north, it caused widespread destruction, including the destruction of homes, buildings, bridges, and roads. Entire communities were washed away, and millions of residents lost access to cellphone services and electricity. The death toll from Hurricane Helene has risen to more than 200 people.
Tickets for the show, which will be hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley and presented by Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority, went on sale starting on October 10th.
