A rock band called Gel shocked their fans by announcing they have broken up and canceled all their shows because their guitarist, Anthony Webster, was accused of stealing money for OnlyFans subscriptions. The New Jersey-based band shared a statement on Instagram on March 20, explaining their decision.

“Gel is no longer a band, and we will not be playing any of our scheduled shows,” they wrote. “The reason is simple: our former guitarist, Anthony Webster, has done things so bad that they have completely ruined the band and affected us deeply as people.”

The band claimed that Webster stole “tens of thousands of dollars” from them, spending it on OnlyFans and suspicious CashApp transactions. They also accused him of sharing nude photos of band members on Reddit.

According to the band, they have proof of these actions because Webster was “terrible at covering his tracks.”

On top of that, they alleged he put them in danger multiple times by driving recklessly, throwing things at them, and even getting their van window smashed with a baseball bat.

The band apologized to fans, saying, “We are deeply sorry to everyone affected by this.”

Fans reacted with support, with some asking the band to continue without Webster, while others expressed sadness over the breakup.

Gel formed in 2019 and released one studio album, Only Constant, in 2023.
